ABOUT US.... The Object of the Acadiana Alumnae Chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi is to foster a feeling of fraternity and love among its members and to support AOII International, and our Collegiate chapters, especially Delta Beta at University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Kappa Chi at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. We support the AOII Foundation and our International Philanthropy, Arthritis Research. We also have local philanthropic projects such as collecting school supplies, canned goods for Foodnet, and stuffed pandas for University Medical Center Pediatric Clinic. One of the highlights of the year is our Holiday meeting where we collect toys and gifts for a family in need in the community- last year we collected a trunk full of toys for the family of a National Guardsman in Iraq.
We have sisters from various collegiate chapters and all ages from 25 to 80. We enjoy getting together for fun times and good food, sharing each others joys and sorrows, caring about each other and, most importantly, experiencing our Ritual and the Sisterhood that is Alpha Omicron Pi. All of us realize that Alpha Omicron Pi still has something of value to offer and that the Sisterhood is indeed for a Lifetime. If you are an initiated member of Alpha Omicron Pi living in the Acadiana area, come join us - we want you in our Chapter!
